Daily Grind Rust is a community-operated network of modded Rust game servers and companion websites, run by hobbyist administrators from the United Kingdom. The network currently comprises Daily Grind 3x (dailygrind3x.com); the network hub at dailygrindrust.com redirects here. For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, the operator of Daily Grind Rust is the “data controller” responsible for your personal data.

We only collect what we need to run our servers, show stats, keep play fair, and let you log in. What applies to you depends on how you use the service.

If you log in with Steam: your 17-digit SteamID, your public Steam display name (persona) and avatar image. We never receive or store your Steam password — login is handled entirely by Steam (Valve).

If you log in with Discord: your Discord ID, username, email address, and avatar — used to identify staff and unlock the member dashboard.

From in-game play: your in-game name and SteamID; gameplay statistics (e.g. resources farmed, raid actions) shown on leaderboards; messages you send in the in-game GLOBAL chat (team/private chat is never captured); server event records such as connections and deaths; and moderation records (e.g. chat mutes) where applicable.

Technical & security data: your IP address, browser type, and request logs — processed by us and our network provider (Cloudflare) to serve the sites securely and prevent abuse. The game servers log connection data (including IP address) for anti-cheat, security, and ban enforcement.

Website usage: we count page views anonymously — the page visited, the referring site, and a coarse device type (phone / tablet / desktop). This uses no cookies, stores no IP address, and cannot identify you.

Purchases & supporter perks (optional): if you purchase a supporter perk, payment is handled by a third-party payment provider — we do not see or store your full card details. We may receive confirmation of a payment plus any username or note you choose to include.

Under the UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your data. Ours are:

• •Legitimate interests — operating and securing our servers and websites; displaying stats, leaderboards, and the live status/chat feed; moderation, anti-cheat, and enforcing bans; preventing fraud, abuse, and disruption; understanding overall site usage via anonymous page-view counts.
• •Performance of a contract / your request — authenticating you when you log in and keeping you signed in; processing a supporter purchase you choose to make.
• •Consent — where we ask for it specifically (e.g. optional features). You can withdraw consent at any time.

Some information is, by design, visible to anyone on our websites. Please keep this in mind while you play and chat:

• •Your in-game name and SteamID can appear on leaderboards and the live player list.
• •Your gameplay stats (farming/raiding totals) appear on public leaderboards.
• •Messages you send in GLOBAL chat are shown in the public web chat feed — do not share anything private there.
• •Team and private chat is never published.

We keep cookies to an absolute minimum.

• •When you log in, our authentication system sets strictly-necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF).
• •We do NOT use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. Our anonymous page-view counting works entirely without cookies.
• •Because our only cookies are strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested (logging in), they are exempt from the consent requirement under PECR — we disclose them here for transparency.
• •If you never log in, no cookies are required to browse the sites.

We do not sell your data. We share limited data only with the service providers (“processors”) needed to run the service:

• •Valve / Steam — login and public profile lookup.
• •Discord — optional login.
• •Cloudflare — secure delivery, network protection, and DDoS mitigation.
• •Our payment provider — to process supporter purchases.
• •Our AI provider — to power the in-game/website assistant on servers that offer it.
• •Image hosts (e.g. Steam’s content CDN, Dropbox) used to display images.
• •Legal — we may disclose data where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our servers, our players, or others.

Some providers (such as Steam, Discord, and Cloudflare) operate outside the UK, so your data may be transferred internationally. Where it is, we rely on the safeguards UK law recognises — such as UK “adequacy” regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Standard Contractual Clauses — and on those providers’ own compliance frameworks.

• •Gameplay stats (farming/raiding) are reset each server wipe.
• •Chat and event feeds are kept for a limited period to power the live sites, then age out.
• •Account data (Steam/Discord identifiers) is kept while your account is active, and deleted on request.
• •Security and connection logs are kept only as long as needed for anti-cheat, moderation, and ban enforcement.
• •Anonymous page-view counts contain no personal data and are kept as aggregate statistics.
• •Purchase confirmations are kept as needed for basic record-keeping.

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

• •Be informed about how your data is used (this page).
• •Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• •Have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
• •Erasure — the “right to be forgotten” — ask us to delete your data.
• •Restrict or object to certain processing.
• •Data portability, where applicable.
• •Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it.
• •To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We aim to respond within one month, as required by law. Some data (such as ban records) may be retained where we have a lawful reason — for example, to prevent ban evasion.

• •Administrative access to our servers and websites is restricted to the operator and trusted staff.
• •Admin and remote-control access is protected by strong credentials and, where supported, two-factor authentication.
• •We follow good-practice security measures, though no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Rust is a mature, violent game (rated PEGI 16). Daily Grind Rust servers are not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from under-16s. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

We may update this policy as the network evolves. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the current version, and significant changes may also be announced in our Discord.
